About British Airways Avios
British Airways, stationed out of London Heathrow Airport, is the largest airline in the United Kingdom based on fleet size, and is owned by the same company as Iberia Airlines. British Airways’ loyalty program, affectionately named “the Club,” allows fliers to collect their rewards points, Avios, and to use them while traveling to and from the United Kingdom.
Although British Airways most popular destinations remain the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as the United States, Spain, and France, the company recently added new destinations on top of the 160 destinations it previously served. Among the newest destinations are Corsica, Seychelles, Prague, and Las Vegas, so now Club members can use their Avios points to explore less touristy towns.
An added bonus of the British Airways Club is the option to receive cheaper flights through the Reward Flight Saver to destinations within Europe or to southern Africa.
How do you earn Avios? British Airways is not the only way. You can also fly with Are Lingus, Flybe, Iberia, Kulula, and Meridiana because Avios are the reward currency of all these partner airlines. When you fly with any of these airlines, book hotels at their partner company, Rocketmiles, hire cars, or shop at specific places you earn Avios.
Avios are revolutionary not only because they are a shared currency, but because you can always buy them for yourself, give them as a gift or sell them to others who need them.
